Rachel and Chris, an autumn engagement

Cool and cloudy, that was the weather of the day. Sad and gloomy, that was the mood of the morning as Chris and Rachel had to put their pet dog of 13 years to rest. It’s a sad day when a friend leaves you, and my heart goes out to them. My dog is nine years old and I can’t even begin to think about the day he leaves us.

Picking up the mood for our afternoon engagement session wasn’t easy, but Chris and Rachel toughed it out and came out with some great shots. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the pictures we captured.

Mike and Angie, rain or shine

Mike and Angie just got married, and it was a day to remember. It didn’t matter that the weather wasn’t cooperative, they hardly blinked an eye at it. What mattered was that they were getting married and nothing was going to stop them from having a ball in the process.

This was an extra special wedding for me because three years ago I was fortunate enough to photograph Angie’s sister’s wedding. I love having the opportunity to be a part of multiple family weddings — I get a chance to see the family grow. The funny thing about these two weddings is that they both had rainy and cool weather, and in both cases, the weather didn’t detract from the party.

Cara and Darren, the sunny couple, get hitched

Back in May, I did an engagement session with Cara and Darren. It was a sunny, beautiful day in Madison. This past weekend, I photographed their wedding, and again it was a sunny beautiful day in Madison. This leads me to believe that they are just one happy, sunny couple! Here are some of the pictures from their wedding, and as you can see, it’s not just the sun that makes this couple a sunny couple. More of the sneak peek images can be seen on my Flickr page.

My second shooter for the day was Amy Lynn Schereck, you should check out here work, she’s another Madison-based photographer who specializes in editorial, portrait, and wedding photography.

Lucy, the flower girl, was all smiles.

What a great look right before her big entrance! Are you ready?

One of my favorite things to do at weddings is to stand back and let them interact. People are more relaxed and you get some great natural pictures.

I’m not quite sure what the guys were going for here, but it was fun!

Yet another wedding with a full dance floor for the majority of the night. These people know how to party!
